  1. yes -

  2. USAF, you have to comply with the grooming standards.

Hair off collar, off ears, etc.

  3. Well yes! If you are in Air Force you will be required to have a military air cut (short).

  4. If you are in the air force.. you will have short hair... fighter pilot or not.

  5. Depends on your definition of short and if you're a male or female.

For males - yes, it must be fairly short.  For the past 10 years, I have had the barber use a number 3 guard on the sides and back and trim the top to blend.  I block it off on the back and sides rather than have it tapered.

I don't have a clue what the women's standards are.  But this is what I see a lot of.  If their hair is beyond the top of the shoulder, they must pin it up in some fashion.  Otherwise, they can have it cut to a length just above the top of the shoulder.

BTW, these standards apply to all Air Forcer personnel.

I suggest you do a search for AFI 36-2903.  It will have all the requirements.

  6. If you are worried about the grooming standards, you probably wouldn't like it in the military.

  7. Lemme see, If your head is up...

I feel if I answer this question honestly, I will be subject to harsh criticism for no reason whatsoever, beleaguered by non-colleagues, pasteurized, homogenized, folded, spindled and mutilated, so I'll pass on this one like an Audi A6 on the autobahn...

  8. no.....look at the women.

  9. No, you can grow it long like a rockstar. Keep it real dude.

  10. Yes, you do.  Those 'locks are a dead end, dude.  Any aviation career will require conventional appearance and grooming.  If you aren't sure, check with your Air Force recruiter.
