Do you have to inform your landlord that you are calling a certified mold inspector?

there is a serious mold problem in our apartment and are wondering if we need special approval from our complex to call a certified mold inspector to inspect all the mold in our apt?

  1. As long as you are paying and they do not need to access any areas not covered in your lease you have no need to tell the landlord.

    I hope you did a home test kit first, the odds of you having a toxic mold are close to zero, a test kit only costs about 10 bucks.

I'm a landlord and no you don't need to tell you landlord as long you  notified him or her about the problem and he or she don't fit it but because you are the one that is calling is running from you pocket and other thing that you can do that it will not cost you nothing is go to the city hall in you town and ask for health department and explain the situation and they will send some one to the house then he need to take care the problem and he can not trow you out from the apartment for complain. That against the law in the same time in the city hall ask for the book for tenant and landlords right
