The book says you have to know your social security number, but it dosen't say if its for your permit or license or if you just need to have a copy of your SS number card or something. PLEASE HELP!!

  1. no you don't have to

  2. You have to have your LEGAL social security card, which means you have to have in your posession the card itself, unlaminated, and you have to have another piece of ID.  The test is multiple choice.  You do not have to memorize your SSN, rather just carry the card.

  3. A lot of people don't know their SSN.  Just bring your card with you and you'll be fine.  Back in the day, your SSN was your DL number.

  4. You misunderstand - you don't have to have your SS number memorized - you can read it from the SS card or something.
