Do you have to learn Polish now to live in London?

Question

Outside Greenford tube station in London is a shop with adverts in the window, for tat, rooms to let, ladies of the night etc. MOST of them are written in Polish!

How's an English born and bred person supposed to cope?

the problem with england isnt the fact that its full of polish people, the problem is that it is still unfortunatly  full of english people,, come on you poles ill happily learn polish and eat big sausages and red cabbage in a can if it means less english

i don't mind non english people living in our country but if they don't like us something should be done. if your foriegn & i mean the scots & welsh, please go home if you don't like or hate the english

It pisses me off in my own country too (Canada) but the fact of the matter is, in todays business climate, if someone wants to limit their clientelle by limiting who they advertise to then more power to them.  They won't be in business all that long anyway.

Try coming to my area in western Canada one time.  We are about as far away from Quebec (our french province) as we can be, thankfully, and we still have to see bilingual signs and to get a Govt job you had better be bilingual.  We need to have it bilingual here but in that province it's illegal to have anything but french.  

I'm a white Protestant male in the middle of Canada and I feel like a minority in my own country.

LONDON  your joking mate, its every where in the uk. even in some of the most unsuspecting places, i dont have a problem with Polish people just the greedy employers who have them on the cheap ,I work with some Lithuanian people even they look down there nose at them, but lets face it the uk. is a free for all, and the government have there heads so far up there **** they will argue blacks white nothing is wrong, Ho,  by the way do they do a turn on the cheap

....It's like that everywhere.  Have you ever noticed  how   some area's which  have more German/ Pakistani/Arab people, will have signs with English and that other language next to it?  It's just so that people with poor English can understand the signs better.
