  1. I would not recomend it.  I have heard rumers that any exaust configurations that have not been put through extensive expensive official enviromental certification tests for your exact car model are illegal anyway.  In other words...  There is about a 99% chance it is an illegal mod.  Even if I am wrong about that, chances are the cost of the muffler over stock and the small possablity it will need replaced make it not worth it to have your car labled as a hot rod by the insurance company.

  2. Yes because it makes your car more valuable.

  3. If the new exhaust changes the vehicle from the manufacturer's standard specification (and particularly if it enhances performance) then you must notify your insurer. This applies to any "modifications" but especially those that alter performance, alter the appearance of the vehicle or could make it more attractive to thieves. If in doubt, always tell the insurer and get written confirmation that the company has agreed to the change.

  5. No.

    Good Luck...

  6. No I don't think so cuz I just recently put a new glass pack on my truck and no one told me that I had to let the Insurance company know so I don't think so unless its a new law...

  7. no. the insurance co, care lest of what you do to you car if you car is under Lise , then   ,may complain

  8. Well... if you total your car do you want them to take into account the value your exhuast adds?

Right now they are insuring your FACTORY car.. so if that exhaust gets damaged.. that wont pay to have it replaced.

So yes, i suggest you tell them if you want them to take it into consideration.

  9. Only if they are paying for it because of an accident that wasn't your fault ( hit by another driver)

  10. No, but if you go out and buy a really expensive dual exhaust kit for about 4-5 hundred, and you get into a crash, they will replace the exhaust with stock ones. So if you want to make sure you will always have that exhaust even if you get into a crash, you tell your insurance company, and get your monthly cost increased a little. But personally, I wouldn't tell them.
