  1. Yes, if you maintain links with the state.

    Also if it is self employed income, then you must also pay SE tax.

    On your U.S. return, you must report your worldwide income. If the total income meets the filing requirement, you must file your tax return.Filing in the U.S. does not necessarily mean that you will be paying taxes in US also.   2. If you still maintain a tie to your State, such as maintaining voter registration, property ownership, vehicle registration, maintaining a home, etc. then yes, you still must pay State income taxes.
