Do you have to pay a "fee" to join a sorority?

I know nothing about sorority membership fees. I don't even know if those exist. I just heard they did.

Can anyone tell me about the type of things I would pay for when joining a sorority?

Yes dues.  Then don't forget about the formal wear, and other fees needed to associate with them.  My daughter was in a sorority...lots of miscellaneous fees, and formal clothing. It can get pricey.  (college prof)

Most fraternities and sororities make you pay dues after you join them. These dues help fund the frats' activities such as paying for the house, and buying all the booze for the parties.
