Do you have to pay for tickets to go to canadian idol???

This is for people living in Toronto Canada.

I wanted to know if its free to go to canadian idol or you need tickets and have to pay???

I believe it works two ways:

1.  You can pre-order tickets from TicketMaster if you want guaranteed seating for a specific date.  (They cost $5.00)

2.  You can show up at the John Bassett Theatre and line up in the Rush line.  Basically, you line up outside and CTV workers will seat you in available seats just prior to the start of the show.  (This is free.)  

I was just at one of the tapings last month and I got in through the Rush line.  I liked this method because there were single seats scattered throughout the theatre by the time we got in and they're usually pretty good seats.  We ended up getting some of the best seats in the house (front row, centre, right behind the judges).
