  1. If you are receiving a gift from some one outside the US you have no tax issue unless you sell it.  You state's sales tax would not apply and there would be no taxable income.  Now if you really ordered the item and they are marking it as a gift to beat the import tax you are out of luck, pay the tax.

    If I order something across the border wise, when it arrives I pay GS taxes in the final bill
