Do you have to pay to ice skate?

I live in MA and I was wondering if it costs any money to go to a local ice skating rink , not in Boston, but in a more local town, and how much does it cost to rent skates. If it does cost money to go to an indoor rink, how much money would you say it is?

  1. Yeah, you probably have to pay. It could vary, but I guess it would be around 10 bucks or so (i went to an indoor rink and i paid 11 and that didnt include skates)

  2. in my rink, it costs 6 dollars for free skate, and 3.50 to rent skates.

  3. ya you totally have to pay and it is rerally expensive if you go pro.

  4. yeah hockey torments can cost $1000 just to play in

  5. It is more money to skate indoors than outdoors because of the upkeep cost they charge you at the indoor rink although i've skated many places now because I'm a figure skater (skate year round) and I find many indoor rinks a lot more comfortable than outdoor so I find it worth it. My indoor rink that I skate at in NJ costs $10 to get into a public session and $3 to rent skates. (TIP: If you skate a fair amount you may want to consider purchasing your own skates. It PAYS off in the end!!! And you can control when they get sharpened and they will most likey provide more comfort.) This is my opinion. Hope it helps.

  6. Yes, if it's an indoor rink that implies that there's equipment and electricity being used to maintain it, which costs money!

Where I live, public sessions with rental skates run about $9 or $10.  Have fun!

There are tons of rinks in MA - not sure where you are.
