Do you have to pay to join second life?

i tried making an account

and i filled eveything out then it asks for "select id method"

either cell phone

or pay pal.

and it wont work on my cell because i live in canada and for the carrier, it dosnt have bell.

what do i do ?:S

No, but you have to pay to buy property there (which is stupid because you cant do whatever you want...even though its virtual)...

I wouldnt pay for it, and neither should you.
