Question:

Do you have to pay tuition every year you're at a university?

I'm trying to figure out how much college is going to cost me once I transfer from my community college. My friend said you have to pay tuition every year but I thought it was a one time thing. Can someone please help me in answering this question. Also, in the college I want to go to it says that the only ways you can be reclassified as a resident is to live there for a year or more before going to college. Are you able to take a year off before going to a university after you're done with community college? I thought you couldn't but I was wondering why they said that was an option if you couldn't. It would be a lot cheaper if I became a resident first.

  1. Tuition and fees are yearly expenses.  They usually split them by semesters and charge per credit hour you take that particular semester.

This may vary by the college/university.  But its a universal fact that tuition and fees will occur each year.

You can take as long as you'd like to before going back to school.  Some people go to community colleges and never move on to bigger universities, so that will not be an issue.

    Best of luck!

  2. It's generally every semester and the specific cost depends on how many credits you take.

  3. EVERY year.

You can proceed at your own pace (if you want to take a year off)
