Do you have to pay tv lincence in spain?

All so what other utility bills do you have to pay for in spain? Do you have gas and electric pre pay meters and what other service charges do you have like council tax etc

  1. No we are not as greedy as rip off Britain, there are alot of things cheaper, including petrol, gas, water (really cheap) and electricity. There are no pre paid meters you either pay when the bill comes or by direct debit. But we have no red letter warnings here, when the bill comes and you are not paying the bill by d.d then you had better pay pretty quick or you get cut off!! No messing.

    There is a local SUMA tax which covers alot of things, it's similar to  council tax but also really cheap.


  2. Gas is bought in bottles, electricity is by contract,not pre-paid. There is no TV Licence, it is all paid for by advertising. Each community has a charge which usually covers everything else. Sometimes you have to pay for rubbish collection if your community doesn't include in the bill.
