Do you have to provide your birthdate to create a Yahoo Account?

I have people that would like to Join my Yahoo Group , that do not have Yahoo Profiles, but do not want to give out their birthdate.

Can you setup a Yahoo Profile without a birthdate?

you cant set up a Y account without a birth year.  this is how Yahoo monitors age, by account, not by profile
