Do you have to put your flashers/blinkers on when behind a bus that's loading or unloading?

That's so that the driver's behind you realize you're stopped for a bus.

  1. No there's no requirement to do that, but it's a good idea. I do it sometimes, but usually in my semi if I'm on a two lane road. By the way, if the bus is on a 4 lane or divided hwy/road, you do not have to stop at all if going in the opposite direction. State and federal law will only allow buses to empty passengers on their side of the road. The only time kids can cross in front of the bus is in a subdivsion or on a two lane road. The reason is that there would be too many lanes for kids to cross safely.


  2. they should see the bus stopped along side the highway

    (remember if the school bus reds are flashing you can not pass the bus (and the school bus stop sign should be showing)
