  1. no i don't think you do. as long as you are well trained and are really serious about it with the whole package then you should be fine. you get into the companies by audition. sure you will find that most dancers that go to the school that feds into the company will end up there but there will be dancers that didn't and have the talent to go straight to the company. good luck and happy dancing!

  2. Of course! You can't make it as a pro without credits. If you go into a casting call and  you can't tell them where you graduated from, they won't hire you.

  3. No, but you'll have to practice hard no matter what!

  4. yea because when u go 2 b one they check 2 see if u have been trained any now they still may take u after that but they will check and see how good u are so when they check out 2 see make sure that u do really good.

  5. I am pretty sure,

    yes.

  6. of course not! i think the other people answering your question think you mean a ballet school that can be local, not like huge schools like the royal ballet school, SAB, ABT, etc.

going to one of the big schools can definitely help your chances but that doesn't mean you MUST go to one to become professional. local schools are fine and can produce professional ballerinas too. its just easier if you go to a big name school. go to summer intensives!! they will help you a lot and are good dance experiences.

  7. of course how else do you think they know if you are good enough of not

  8. uhh yeah. because then how are you supposed to get in with the big companies
