Do you have to read the Gossip Girl novels in order?

Do you have to read the Gossip Girl Series in the correct order in order to understand them?

well it depends if you watch the show and want to read one of the books that one of the episodes was about or not. I watched the show first and then read book one just a few Weeks ago. i have number two, but haven't started it yet. The books are VERY different from the show, but are very good too. i would really recommend reading them in order, but you don't really HAVE to, to understand what's going on. Especially if you have watched the show. :) if you watch the show then enjoy tomorrow! its the season premier!! i am sooooooooo excited

I agree that it would be better to read the books in order.. I didn't because I didn't know which order they went in! I started reading them at the school library and got hooked!

Overall I got the concept but at times it was confusing which was first and after...

At first I didn't care for the Gossip Girl Show because I already had read all the books and the books character descriptions are different then the show. But I gave it a chance and really love it now.

So what I am saying is if you have watched the show first the book will be different but give it a chance because the books are sooo good!

To bad it's over though :( I never wanted the story to end I wanted to see what happens after Blair leaves for college!

Oh I also want to recomend the It Girls Series to you they are pretty good not as great as Gossip Girl but still good. They are about Jenny when she leaves for Boarding School.
