Do you have to remove gearbox to replace master clutch cylinder and slave cylinder on 1997 ford explorer?

  1. Not the master cylinder but I think you do to replace the slave cylinder. On my Ranger the slave cylinder and throwout bearing are one unit inside the bellhousing. Gotta pull the trans or engine to get to it.(slave cylinder)
