  1. I advise you, you do it. You can be served by a waiter or waitress who speaks English but it's more likely you're served by people who doesn't speak English. Even if you are staying in a  for star hotel.


  2. Yeah, it´s always a good idea to know a few expressions in the language of any country you are travelling to.

    Fortunately, almost anywhere you go, you can just point and gesture to get what you need, and in many bar/restaurantes in Spain, they have the tapas right out on the bar, and all you need to do is say tapa? and point to the one that looks tasty.

    In most places, the bartenders are really happy to help you out.

  3. Don't worry, there are many restaurants in Burgos that cater to visitors and tourists who do not speak spanish.

    Before you go do a little research online. There are many foods that are specialties to that area of Spain. Write down the ones that sound especially interesting to you.

  4. You might want to start learning Spanish if you want to go there, also some Catalan.

  5. Yes, but Spain also has three other officially recognized languages... Euskara: Catalan and Galician are the other three official languages from Spain.  

    Some may speak English in Spain there are US military that are stationed there and Speak English.  If you don't speak Spnish you'll be ok as a tourist.
