i didn't HAVE to study religion but while i was in high school they offered a comparative religion course that went over different types, views and beliefs of religions like christan, catholic, buddhist, jewish, etc.

Not in mine, they don't even offer it. Even if they tried I wouldn't last, I'm way to opinionated because I don't believe in it at all. I won't even get my school districts diploma because I refused to take Indian studies after a day, province one is fine for me :)

i don't think so. in fact, the public schools are trying to take god completely out of schools. even just two words in the pledge of allegiance they're taking out.

No. I believe it is against the law unless you are attending a private school. At least that is my understanding from certain law classes and history classes.
