I'm really confused but I see a lot of kids going to UT wanting to be a doctor and the school doesn't have a Premed major (or if they do then I'm tlaking about a school that doens't have that major)? how does that work out?

  1. ^ is correct.  There is no such thing as pre-med major, it is a track (a series of courses) that students take to get into Medical School.  Not all schools have pre-med tracks however students may take the required courses to get into medical school regardless.

  2. there is no such thing as a "premed" major.

you are required to do your 4 undergrad years as some kind of science major(biology, biochemistry, physics, etc,) after that after you graduate with your b.s you take your mcat's and apply to a med school and do 2 years of premed, one of intern, and another of residency.

after that it depends on what you specialty will be, whether its plastics, oncology, dermatology, pedatrics...etc.)
