  1. In most cases no, but some schools prefer the SAT. 99% of schools will be fine with an ACT score, some high end East and West coast schools (think Stanford, Yale, Harvard) would rather you submit SAT scores, but most schools will take the ACT.


  2. It really depends on what area you live in and what college you want to get into. I know that here on the east coast everyone going to college takes the SAT II and although some people take the ACT, it's not usually required.

    In the midwest, the ACT is much more popular however everyone still takes the SAT II.

    Although taking the ACT is optional for a lot of universities, I can't think of any colleges that don't want you to take the SAT II...so sign up at www.collegeboard.com for the SAT II and hit those books!

  3. honestly you dont have to take either unless you want to. depends what school you're looking to go to. a lot of east coast schools dont even take the ACT's.
