Do you have to take Tylenol with food?

Does anybody know... are you able to take Tylenol on an empty stomach?

i wouldn't recommend it.  you should at least take it with some milk so that your stomach won't be irritated.

If you take the liquid tylenol, it will go through your stomach very quickly and not cause upset.  Oddly, Tylenol does not have information on this product on their web site, but they say it's OK to give the children's liquid Tylenol on an empty stomach so the adult version should be OK.

I just had this conversation with my doc last month.  She said that Tylenol can upset the stomach of some people.  If it upsets yours, take it with milk or a small snack.  If it doesn't, a glass of water will do.

Yes. Just make sure you take it with a liquid. The dangerous part is swallowing Tylenol without a liquid to wash it down, as it can get caught in your esophagus (throat), dissolve, and damage the sensitive skin there.
