  1. yes. in almost all countries and states, some form of test must be taken before you can llegally ride on the road.

    for instance, in the UK:

at 16 you can ride a 50cc bike/scooter on the road if you have taken and passed a CBT (Compulsary Basic Training) test.

then at 17, you can take a full motorcycle test that when you pass, enables you to ride a 125cc motorcycle or a bike that is below 33bhp. this stays in effect until you pass a certain age.  im not sure i think its 19 or 21. anyway from then in you can ride w.e you want to (Y)

  2. It depends on the state.

    In Wisconsin

You must first have your regular driver's license

You don't have to, but at this point I would take a motorcycle safety course.

You then take a written test which gets you your learner's permit

    Practice, practice, practice...

You then take a road test which gets you your motorcycle endorsement on your driver's license.  With this, you can ride any size motorcycle you want.

    Ride safe - Have fun

  3. I am not aware of any state that does not require a motorcycle license (or endorsement on your driver's license) to ride a motorcycle. And yes, you must pass a motorcycle license test.

The best way to do it is to sign up for an MSF (Motorcycle Safety Foundation) class. It's a 3 or 4 day class that teaches you how to ride safely, and if you pass it you automatically get your motorcycle license without having to pass the DMV test.

  4. Depends on what state you are in.

    In Florida, yes
