Do you have to take both drivers ed & drivers training to get your permit?

I'm taking drivers ed online so i wouldn't have 2 take it at my school. But do I have to take both drivers ed & drivers training [behind the wheel] to get my permit?

your learners permit? No. You should just get that after the written test.

To get your action juniors/seniors license you have to take bother the driver's ed course AND have at least 20 hours behind the wheel.

Although it varies state to state I think. I'm from NY.
