In texas do you have to take drivers ed to get a permit or drivers license.

  1. no you dont' have to take drivers ed...but when you go to get your license they will make you drive a short test if you having completed DE already.  So to make things easier I would take DE and then get my license....hahaha...that's what I did.  All I can say is that it's got to be really stressful doing the driving test with some guy from the DMV.  Good Luck
