Do you have to take the ACT test?

i am sapose to take the act test on saturday but i cant make it but im not sure if i really need it i was just always told to take it so yeah

Yeah, you need it to get into college PERIOD.

Most will not accept you without one. You NEED it to get placed in the classes you need. If you suck at math, it will show on the ACT and they will place you accordingly.

I'm taking mine Saturday too! I'm nervous, and if you want to go to a midwest college, then you HAVE to have it. I would take it, even if you think you're going to go to college in California, because you just might change your mind. So be on the safe side.

It depends on what college you wanna go to.

The ACT is required by some colleges, the SAT for most others.

So really, it's a REALLY GOOD IDEA to do so, solely because it enables you to get into more colleges.

I'd say, take it.  Don't worry.  and if you get worried about an answer, breath in through the nose, out the mouth and force yourself to relax.

depends where you are applying for college.

some require it, some dont.

i live on the west coast and they only really require the SAT. so it really depends on where you're going to school.

i would still take it any way (try to sign up for the next test)

because you never know if you will needit ornot.

you should take ACT but you can replace it with SAT Reasoning

you can take the ACT and the SAT(optional)

and remember you have to take at least 2 subjects in the SAT Subjects if you are going to a university

Some schools require the ACT, some the SAT, some both, and some neither. So whether you need to take it depends on where you are applying. If you don't know yet, it's a good idea to take it but it's only necessary if you are applying to a school that requires it for admission applications.

its very important, I'm 25 now and took it clear back in 2001, I'm going for another degree and they are still asking about my old ACT scores at my new college even though I've been working and have an associates degree, and there 7 years old!

It does depend on what schools you want to apply for, I took them both and it seems like the best way to go, it wont hurt anything to have both.

If you want to get into any college you need the SAT or the ACT test. Period.

I think it more depends on the college. Some want both the ACT and the SAT, some want one or the other.

Personally, I didn't take the ACT and I got accepted to 5 colleges without it.

*Given, I applied to colleges about a year and a half ago

yeah, it's like a placement test for college to see what level you're on. it's not that hard.
