I want to start at a jr. college and transfer to a university. do i need to take the sat's?

  1. Most jr. colleges don't but since you want to transfer I'd recommend that you take the SATs anyway--it'll keep you from stressing out later on. You can transfer after just one year (I even know people who transferred after 1 semester); you just have to check your school since it varies.

  2. If you know that you're going to Jr. College, what do you have to lose by taking the SAT? Who knows you may take it and open up other options. I tell my daughter to give herself as many options as possible. If you don't take the test you will never know what other options you may have had.

  3. You should take them as many colleges do require them for transfer. You can apply to most colleges after just one year.

  4. No.  You don't need your SATs.  Its like that old joke:  What does a prostitute and a community college have in common?  They'll both let anybody in.
