The manager just puts the food in a bag. Should I tip for that? I already paid for the meal.

  1. No, I would not.   If you were waited on and had the dining experience than yes you should tip.  However, managers normally don't get tipped since they are salaried.  Why should we tip for take out?  It's just bagged and picked up.

  2. No, they don't do you any particular service as a waiter (serves your needs) or a delivery person (delivers your food in a timely manner with the food intact) does.

  3. When in doubt, shell it out! Whoever has your food waiting for you took the time to keep an eye out for it, wrap it up, and have it ready for you. Maybe just tip 10%-15% instead of 15%-20%.

  4. yup

  5. no

  6. No u dont have to tip the manager at a restaurant.

  7. Ah no... don't tip the high school drop out.

  8. I ALWAYS tip the food establishment - whether eating in or out.  For takeout, I tip approximately 10% before the tax is added - less than the usual 15-20% for dine-in. The take-out places remember who tips them, and appreciate customers who treat them well.  I always get a smile - treated well, and sometimes extra-big servings.  It's all good! Have a healthy and happy leap year!

  9. I would because most likely, there was a server or takeaway person who took the order, put it in correctly and bagged it. Usually the manager will just look it over and then hand it to you so you feel better about having a manager take care of something for you. Managers can't collect tips so if you do, that money will go to the person who REALLY did the work. No offense against managers in restaurants, but they have a lot to do and usually just over see those kinds of things. Then they give the customers what they wanted and act like they "took care" of them.

  10. know you should not because that's what there getting payed for . and that's more money going out your pocket in to theres. have agreat day!

  11. i wouldn't but you never know u might get a nice table or good service next time you go there

  12. I wouldn't. Why? Not because I am cheap but they didn't serve me the only person I would tip is the cook cause he is the one that prepared the food. But why should I tip them when all they did was give me my food in a bag?

The cook deserves to be tipped :D

  13. As a past server  -  ALWAYS tip.

  14. no you shouldnt he is doing his job he doesnt work for tips

  15. Heck No. He did not cook it, bag it.

  16. I would say yes.

this is why,  most likely the manager did not take the order, a hostess or server probably did.  therefore he will not close the check under his name.  he will probably let the person who took the order keep the tip,  they are probably getting taxed on they're sales so they need the tip.
