Do you have to use full synthetic oil in a ducati Monster 750? Or can i just use reg 4 stroke oil 10w40?

I bought reg 10w40 4 stroke oil for my ducati monster 750.

  1. Why would you buy something as cool as a DUC and then get cheap on the oil. ??????

    No, it doesn't have to be full synthetic, but you will have to change it more often. so the cost/benefit is actually about the same.

    Plus your probably not riding it everyday...so the reg oil will bleed off the cylinder walls and cams faster, if your bike is sitting around for 3 months at a time, like the commercial says, 90% of engine wear at start up..

    ANd your Duc has a dry clutch so you don't have to buy MOto oil....


  2. Also dont forget if you use synthetic oil to change the oil filter about every 3000 miles because filters dont last as long as the oil will..

  3. Almost all motorcycles use wet clutch system.

    Most automobile Synthetic oil are NOT suited for wet clutch motorcycle system.  This info in on the Valvoline and Mobil1 website.  Mobile1 makes SPECIAL motorcycle synthetic without friction modifier for use in wet clutch.
