  1. Can vary by the specific race. I've encountered some that insist on bibs/numbers being on a shirt on the chest rather than on shorts -- that would necessitate a shirt or singlet or sports bra in some form.

Generally speaking, I'd expect you're okay putting the number on your shorts or attaching it to a race belt, especially if you're a hot chick.

  2. From what I've seen a lot of marathons and other races seem to allow it - but to be sure I would just drop an e-mail to the organizers and ask them if it's OK to run without a shirt.

The times I have asked, I have always been told it's OK to go without a shirt - I just need to have my bib pinned to the front of my shorts so it's easy to read.

Hope this helps some - and good luck.  I've usually done better in races where I run shirtless hope it works out that way for you as well.

  3. Yes normally you do but it does depend on the race. The reason is they need to be able to identify your number and on your shorts it is often obscured. Most of the marathons I have run they have disqualified runners for not having a visible number.  It also indicates to the organisers that you have paid a fee and are licensed to run.  There are some 'unofficial' races who do not care.

A running vest is very light and comfortable and can be little hinderance. However it is a good idea to 'break them' in before hand to make sure there is no irritation on the day.  Multiple washes help this.

    Good luck and have fun!

  4. it isn't a rule in any marathon i've heard of. Plenty of guys un it shirtless. congratulations on your 1st marathon too

  5. No, just make sure number is visable on your shorts somewhere.

  6. i dont think u have2 but u will have 2 wear the number so idk how u would attatch it w/ out a shirt lol

  7. you can run naked if you want just make sure your # is visible

  8. nooo cotton tshirts!! especially if u sweat alot. it absorbs it all and keeps u weighed down.

there are so many materials these days that really help keep from doing that like the dry-fit

ummm iv ran 3marathons and i cant even recall if iv even seen a shirtless guy... but then ur so worried n concetrating on ur own run u dont have time to notice.

if u like to go shirtless why not start with a dry-fit short sleeve shirt... and while racing if u notice more then 1 male without a shirt..go for it.

i kno they say "no headphones" on the trail but everybody still does it. i know i do..

there r soooo many ppl running i dont think they have time to sit there n babysit
