Question:

Do you have too many cleaning products?

I admit, I'm always trying something new in the cleaning aisle. I just can't stay out! I have an entire double door cabinet filled with cleaning products! I probably have too many products because I have two types of floor soap, two types of clean up spray, two types of disinfectant, etc.

Is there a such thing as too many? I keep them locked up with child proofing, so don't worry!

  1. Yes I do, but I still tend to use on average, the same two.

  2. Yes I have too many!!!! My husband and I both owned homes before we married a little over a year ago. When we married we doubled our amount cleaning products and I still buy the lastest and greatest cleaning products.I have cleared out alot of them.It seems the newer products don't work ant better than the stuff I have been using for over 30 years.I try hard not to pick up any new cleaners but sometimes I just can't help it.When we married I moved into his home.We are planning to buy a new home sometimes next year(after my home sells) and I don't want to move all those products I have now so I am trying hard at getting rid of all the extra.

  3. I have way too many, I am always buying new things to try also...But I find more time shopping than I do cleaning..

I bet some of my stuff is yrs old by now...but I still don't throw it out and I still buy new stuff..My kids are all gone so that isn't the problem.I don't mind cleaning either,,but I just don't get around to it..Again , notice I am on computer instead of cleaning,,things distract me..Ok well thanks for reminding me to finish my laundry anyway!

  4. I do house cleaning for a job...it is always good to have plenty...but too much can get confusing. Picking the type you love the best after you try them...then use them and don't buy the ones that aren't your favorite....It is never bad to have enough cleaning stuff tho! :)

  5. If you keep collecting them you'll have to many. Stop going into that aisle and use up what you have. Most of the stuff will last for years. I found a bottle of 409 in garage that was 5 years old. Still worked good.

  6. all l have in the house is pledge furniture polish and l use Mr Clean for my floors

  7. I'm the same way.  SOmething new comes out to make cleaning easier and I am game.  So you have two of everything?  I have six.  and I don't like to throw things away so even the ones that don't work get hung onto just in case I run out of one that I like.  I find that lysol products are great because they clean and dissinfect.  The new tub scrubber thing that has the replaceable pads that contain the soap are not any good, and I love clorox wipes.  also the comet spray gel is pretty good too.  good luck

  8. Nope. Found what worx & stick to them.

If  youve got the room & dont mind the $ - No problem!

  9. Haha yes that sooo happens to me, I have them everywhere

  10. It is not necessary to have all those products.  These days they have products that have multi purposes.  This way you have less clutter under the cabinets.

  11. You know you are right.  I never really thought about it.  I have tons of bottles below the kitchen sink and both bathrooms.  It dosen't seem to keep the rooms any cleaner.  I guess going to the supermarket hungry is probably just as expensive as going to the store ambitious.

  12. But the questions should be....Do you USE them???

I don't have enough it seems!  There's NOTHING like finishing cleaning the house for the weekend - it smells and feels SOOOO GOOD!

  13. It sounds like you're looking for something other than cleaning products. Any time you "can't stop yourself".... Also, I think there is such a thing as too much product, however the companies want you to buy more even though you don't need more. So combining these ideas: you have a desire to have things clean with the most advanced of technology (ie. soap and elbow grease are no longer enough) and commercials are convincing you that what you have isn't good enough. STOP buying into the idea that things aren't clean enough--why do we need antibacterial? have folks been dying from bacteria and we didn't know it? STOP buying every new thing out there. Use what you have. Obsession has little to do with what you're obsessed about and more to do with a psychological need.
