Does your mind and foot have to be "reprogramed" to the slower speed?

And then it seem like you are going so slow.

  1. no not really, but my car is old and slow so maybe its just me.

  2. Nope just have trouble watching out for the fools merging next to me?

  3. I have kind of a lead foot - so I always set my cruise control when I hit a new speed limit area.  At least that way I don't get tickets and it really works!

  4. no changing speeds is quite easy for me whether it is up or down but I do agree when you slow down it does seem really slow.

  5. Well on the Brooklyn Queens Expressway the speed limit is 45, but you never do 45... if traffic is moving your going at least 10 over, or your sitting there in traffic inching along at around 5 to 15 MPH.

The speed limit on most surface streets are 30, but most people do 40-45 on the through routes, so its not much speed difference.

Interestingly, on the Long Island Expressway, in the Queens portion, the service road speed limit is 40 MPH while the main grade seperated road is 50 MPH.

  6. I try to use the  cruise control as much as possible, I have a tendency to want to get where I'm going in a hurry, even when its not somewhere i really want to be..  ME<---   leadfoot.

so yes, i have a real hard time adjusting down the speed,

although when gas was cheaper, I used to love to take drives to the lake or wherever.. I would look down and drive like my ol gramps... and have to speed up.
