To stay awake, I took up smoking again, just did a double shift, driving on the highway for a hour long drive. I fell asleep a few times and even complained about this possibly happening to my boss. I stayed awake thru smoking but I quit like 2 years ago! Since I cannot do this, can someone please give me a video of a girl sleeping while driving or show me where to see one so I can show it to my moron boss? He won't let up, and to think I didn't even get a thank you for being at work since 6 am the day before! I have been at this job for a few years and would hate to have to leave. ANY videos out there with a girl sleep driving may help "wake up" my boss to the trouble I may find myself in some night lol. Maybe if I were a man, he would listen harder to my concerns. I'm going to have a cigarette and go to bed. See, bad habbits starting again lol. Thanks for your help to all whom respond. And please help lol!

I would suggest that you ask a freindly cop to have a quiet word with your boss. also speak to your solicitor, your trade union and any body else you can think of. until then take the bus or something. driving asleep will ultimately hurt yourself or even somebody else, a child maybe. please don't do it think of the consequences.

Avoid smoking when you drive. Smoke's nicotine and carbon monoxide hamper night vision.

Its funny how its ok for someone who doesn't drive a truck for alive and drive when they are tired.  M.A.T.T. stand for Mothers against tired truckdrive always looking to sue a driver  for driving tired.( No driver should drive tired) but they will not do anything when a tired shiftworker get on the road and kill someone. you need to tell your boss to get lost and find another job. you are playing with people life when u are driving sleeping!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...   **^^^***

Tell you what I do.  I keep the drivers side window cracked to get fresh air in the cabin.  I try and keep the interior cold, with some air blowing on me.  Also you can remove your shoes and drive barefoot or with your socks on.  Check with your state, some states require you to wear shoes to drive.  I also turn up the radio with some rock music playing.

If I find myself still starting to doze at the wheel, then I find a rest area and pull off and grab an hour or two of sleep.

Some years ago, I fell asleep at the wheel and came extremely close to losing my life.  Spent several months in a hospital.  I'm wiser now, and don't push it near as hard as I once did.
