1. Nope and I'm glad im not the only educated young person in our country. props to you my good friend for knowing your stuff.

  2. Heck no. I fight it tooth and nail.

It's ridiculous that they gave that guy a nobel prize...

  3. um yes honestly i do very strongly believe that if people like you keep acting like the world is indestructible then there will be no world, no animals, no polar bears, no glaciers, no more suv's, cars, humans, but hey at least there's 2 good things that would happen if all the people like you keep doing what your doing it will all leave you at fault and for me to be 13 and see the issues in this world a h**l of a lot clearer then you is pretty sad don't you think take a walk for once see all the liter and garbage and go to the beach see all the cigarette butts soda cans fast food cups drive down the highway see all the homeless people and think even tho you may have a home they see the world for what it truly is and to me they have it a h**l of allot better off then a you who cant seem to walk away from technology long enough to see the mayhem his life style is causing that's pathetic it truly truly is and you may think those guys are so lame but when you drown to death because you and your plastic grocery bags caused pollution that fried the ozone and melted the ice caps or you burn to death in the process

  4. Al Gore and Michael Moore have done more damage to the Earth than global warming ever will.

Global warming is a natural occurance that no government can do anythingh about. It is caused by a number of factors, including changes to the Earths orbit, output of undersea vulcanoes and a host of other natural causes.

Greenies ar nothing but terrorists trying to undermine the global economy, and are responsible for the price speculation that has forced fuel prices so high.

  5. There is no such thing as Global Warming, just natural ebbs in the world's climate. One big Volcano will actually reverse any global warming trend, and then it will start all over again. Man has not been keeping temperature records long enough to know what the Earth's natural cycles really are. Global Warming is just another scare tactic that Special Interest, and some Governments, use to control the Masses and get their way.

  6. Well, yes ... The evidence is around you if you care to look.

So you don't believe that:Carbon Dioxide Increasing in Atmosphere

    Methane Increasing

    More Frequent Extreme Weather

    Disappearing Glaciers

    Melting Arctic Sea Ice

    Melting Antarctic Sea Ice

    Greenland's Ice Sheet Melting

    Tropical Diseases Spreading

Oceans Warming With Coral Bleaching & Disintegration

Would choose believe that it's not happening even though the research is showing otherwise?

  7. I don't take Al Gore and Michael Moore very seriously and I don't let anyone feed me c**p.

I do believe, when most of the world's scientists agree on a new idea, they're probably right. I do believe the science of global warming was around before it turned political.

Do you really take people like Rush Limbaugh seriously?

  8. yeh of couse i do. do you actually listen to them. it is happening get used to it

  9. As someone who works in science I tend to put more faith in scientific opinion than a bunch of nonsense posted from a blog site or something called newsbusters?

Al Gore has probably been good and bad people seem to either love or hate him he did (with some errors) get the infomation out to the general public.

Sorry, whos Micheal Moore never heard of him.

  10. The problem is with the naming. We have created a beast called Global Warming. We 'think' that if we kill it we can stop worrying about it.

We will have to remove the objectivity we have associated with the changes going around on this planet.

Earth has been in a state of constant change and always will till it dies a planetary death. We are distanced from that period by more than what human imagination can come up with.

Now I noticed that things actually have been changing since the time I have memory of in my childhood.

I have a bigger house, more comfortable beds and better medication. But I also have lesser air space around me. What was open ground is roads and bricks and concrete. I buy water, I buy oxygen rich things. I see ads on food items that carry 'pesticide-free' labels.

We used to get water digging 15 feet now its beyond 300feet.

The river in my city was free flowing, big and beautiful in all its flows. Now its dirtied with, what someone told me, was chemical waste from factories where probably they are spinning the latest designer wear. Last week I remember reading in newspapaer, that along the river bank, for almost a mile, they collected dead fish.

I feel happy that I wont be dying of TB, cholera or typhoid but it appears that bird flu could be a bigger epedemic than human kind ever witnessed. We have invented a lot bilogical 'weapons' and things like AIDS. We also seem to have processed and heaped certain metals in a form where a big explosion is now only a button press away.

What else .. I feel happy that I am earning a handsome salary. My bank account is really swell. But rising oil price worries me a lot and I have to put more time and brain into thinking how I can eat better and have my children live well.

I dont think my gread grandfather had to worry all that much about food or his sons. Actually he didn't have to, as I am told.

When young I used to sometimes use my finger to brush my teeth now I seem to have forgotten that and go for toothbrushes designed with cutting edge tech.

So yes things are a changing and how I wish I was born 100 years earlier.

We can possibly extend humand existence on earth a few more days by slight compromise in our 'comfortable' and 'greedy' lives. But tell me .. can we ever get all of the people on this planet to think alike. Have they ever in our history thought alike. That would un human like , wouldn't it. If it did ever have to happen it would also probably take a drastic change in our mindset .. probably something at war footing.. or maybe a war itself.. a war against all those that want things to continue the way they are. That will happen it was 'designed' to happen. Untill then I think the section of humanity that really is worried about xistence will continue to get more worried.

So yes I dont take them anymore seriously than my own beliefs. They are just getting a visual and literature of things we all are already aware of. They need to do something more drastic .. probably AlGore jumping off empire state bldg in protest can be an encouraging start.

PS: I completely agree with 'Rick S'.

+ I didn't know AlGore owns a lot of companies or stake therein. Selfish people like him. But see, he is only human(cept that he is an a**h**e type). :)

  11. Environment is the surround where we live:

All of living humans & animal ; inhale oxygen & exhale carban dioxide.

For the earth’s environment plant inhale carban dioxide & exhale oxygen.

For Eco. Balance oxygen = carban dioxide

but by burning the energy resources to Generate the Power, release the excess carban dioxide , which is causing the green house effect – due to this Global warming is taking place.

Energy resources are mainly – Conventional & Non conventional

Conventional such as – Coal , Fossil fuel ( Diesel, Petrol, LPG,CNG, etc.) & Nuclear etc.

Non conventional - Solar, Wind, Hydro & Bio diesel etc.

These are mainly for used generating power, using Thermal/Gas/ Nuclear Power Plants. Which is turn used for Domestic use, Industrial & Commercial purposes such as running Factories & Transportation, running Agricultural Infrastructures etc. Obliviously with Industrial revolution energy requirement is tremendously increasing. However it leads to releasing of harmful gases and solid waste such as fly ash etc. which is causing Green house effect & Nuclear plant has risk of harmful radiations which is dangers to human life & animal kingdom.

Diesel, Petrol, ATF & Gas is being used in big way for IC& Jet engines which in turn used for transportation (LMV, LCV, HCV etc.) and Generators etc. Which in turn leading to Global warming, melting of polar ice & climate change etc.

We are still running plants based on old technologies, warn out & completed it’s full life may be 40 – 50 years old or more. In India we have seen the fiasco such as Enron Power, a new plant but due to red- tapism couldn’t be operated as per initial agreement & many more cases. ,

Use of Freon in Air conditioners is also causing to damage to environment. By developing the alternative to Freon & curbing the use of it.

Where new alternatives are under Research & development such as Bio diesel using Jetropha seeds (Ratan Jot)etc. so can we plant the Jetropha, this can give us Alternative Fuel for future and stopping the deforestation? and Non conventional sources are still not economical compared to conventional ones except hydro in some cases.

so keeping watch of electricity consumed, Airconditioners and SUV's & no. of Vehicles used by us...

As a social cause it’s the duty of all citizen, Govt. & Industry to conserve the energy recourse, by not exploiting them and Make our planet Greener & safer for all.

    Saving Planet Earth

    Pachauri, R K, 2 June 2008

The Times of India, Education Times

Climate change and the threat that it poses to human existence is a major concern today. Even the youth have an important role to play to save planet earth

There are many lessons in human history which provide adequate warning about the chaos and destruction that could take place if we remain guilty of myopic indifference to the progressive erosion and decline of nature's resources. Much has been written, for instance, about the Maya civilization, which flourished during 250-950 AD, but collapsed largely as a result of serious and prolonged drought. Even earlier, some 4,000 years ago a number of well-known Bronze Age cultures also crumbled extending from the Mediterranean to the Indus Valley, including the civilizations, which had blossomed in Mesopotamia. More recent examples of societies that collapsed or faced chaos on account of depletion or degradation of natural resources include the Khmer Empire in South East Asia, Eastern Island, and several others. Changes in climate have historically determined periods of peace as well as conflict. </P< span>

    The Indian Express

Democracy in India has taken firm roots, and earlier misgivings about coalition governments at the Centre have proved largely unjustified, as recent experience has shown. However, in one respect, Indian democracy, with and without coalition politics, has not served the interests of Indian society adequately. In mature democracies, even when there are deep divisions on crucial issues of national interest, opposing parties drop their differences to coalesce around what is perceived as common national interest. One wonders when Indian politics would reach such a stage of maturity.

    Greenhouse gases: the developed world

    Pachauri, R K, 14 March 2008

    Time

Most references to the role of China and India in global mitigation of emissions of greenhouse gases (GHGs) are generally simplistic. The typical argument put forward highlights the fact that these countries would continue increasing their emissions substantially, and, therefore, any efforts at reduction in the developed world would be more than neutralized by increases in the former. The reality is in fact much more complex. It is important to remember that the problem of human induced climate change has been caused by the cumulative emissions of GHGs with concentration levels at 280 parts per million of CO2 in pre-industrial times growing to around 380 parts per million currently. This increase is largely the result of substantial increase in use of fossil fuels in the industrialized world. For this reason, the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) included the principle of "common but differentiated responsibility", requiring the developed countries to take the first steps in mitigating emissions of GHGs. However, the record of the developed world has been less than satisfactory in this regard.

    National debt vs natural debt

    Pachauri, R K, 24 February 2008

    The Times of India

The Annual Budget is, undoubtedly, an important exercise in charting out the direction of government revenues and expenditures, but it also meets a much larger objective in signalling priorities for growth and development. Based on an assessment of long term trends the Budget must clearly indicate structural changes that could be brought about through a mix of fiscal measures.

Will the Rs 1 lakh car be an environmental nightmare

    Pachauri, R K, 26 December 2007

    Business Standard

The recently concluded Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change came up with a final declaration that highlighted the need for "deep cuts" in emissions of greenhouse gases to combat the problem of global climate change. The tone and content of the Bali Conference represented a perceptible departure from previous such meetings, in view of the major impacts of climate change assessed in great detail in the Fourth Assessment Report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (lPCC).

Essentially, the problem of climate change, which is the result of cumulative emissions of greenhouse gases (GHGs) since the beginning of industrialisation, represents only a part of the-much larger problem of unsustainable development. While the world has achieved remarkable success through innovation in providing the means for satisfying the needs of the human race, there are also several distortions which have taken place and grown as a result.

    Caring for an angry earth

    Pachauri, R K, 30 August 2007

    DNA

The answers to the perils of climate change will come from intellectual innovation.

The environmental problems facing the world and the depletion of natural resources in different regions of the planet require solutions with a strong intellectual content. A good example of this is the fact that it took the world at least a century-and-a-half to realise the effects of emissions of greenhouse gases, most notably carbon dioxide, and to accept its influence on climate.

This delay was in spite of the fact that scientists as far back as the end of the 19th century highlighted the danger of increasing emissions of carbon dioxide on the earth's climate. The reason for this enormous delay lies in a lack of scientific analysis of the problem as well as gaps that existed earlier in the dissemination of information of a scientific nature.

    Future power

    Pachauri, R K, 9 June 2007

    The Indian Express

The search for clean fuels is taking the political centre-stage. Recently, the Indian government announced that 2020 would be the target year to have 1 million carbon-free hydrogen vehicles on the road. So is hydrogen the favoured green technology of the future? Do we have a plan for producing hydrogen from renewable sources in cost effective ways? Or is this all a shot in the dark? R.K. Pachauri, director-general TERI, and chairman of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, has the answers

    Future shocks

    Pachauri, R K, 7 January 2007

    Business World

Living in this world would get much more difficult if climate change continued unmitigated in the future. Already, average Arctic temperatures increased at almost twice the global average rate in the past 100years. Contraction of snow covered area, increases in the depth of thaw over most permafrost regions

  12. I don't really like those guys either, and I don't know all the answers about global warming. But what I do know is that ocean acidification is related to all the CO2 we emit. We know that we emit 24 billion tons of CO2 into the atmosphere each year. The oceans are absorbing huge amounts (about 22 million tons a day) and becoming more acidic. As the pH drops, the calcium carbonate shells of coral and shelled sea creatures dissolve. That means Diatoms (a type of alga) die, and that has a ripple effect throughout the food chain. For more than 600,000 years, the ocean has had a stable pH, but since the industrial revolution, the pH has dropped 30% and it's getting worse. Look, I don't want to debate about global warming and I don't really like Al Gore, but I still support cutting back on CO2 emissions because there is only one habitable planet anywhere near, and I don't want to help s***w it up. If you don't want to believe in global warming, I don't blame you, but the oceans as we know them are going to die if we don't do something about it.

  13. Not a bit. And That Liberal Nut above me here(! lov3 you) Is To retarded to see that it's all just a gimmick and that Al Gore owns several of the companies that proffit from this gambit!

  14. h**l no i don't

  15. Yawn... sorry fell asleep while my SUV was warming up...

Al lies, people are starving, can we all wake up now and smell the coffee? which is 25% more costly thanks to Al and his crew!!!!

Global warming is a lie! just like Acid rain and all the other climate scares they have had!

  16. Eh I don't know.

  17. I just found out that we have entered into Global freezing .

              Here is my evidence:

It was real cold this year.

    The glaciers are growing larger.

Many years ago we had palm trees in Wyoming and now its always cold there.

The woolly mammoth is now frozen in his once tropical paradise.

It snowed in Texas in April.

    My cat grew more fur.

Our pool is 2 degrees cooler than last year .

Seriously , I am not worried about an increase in Co2 of 25-30 % because volcanic activity causes most of it and the earth averages 300-600 ppm and we are at 380 ppm .
