Do you hope to survive the carnage when the world ends in 2112?

This will undoubtedly be caused by astronomical events, which posibly could alter human behavoir. Do you hope to be one of the survivors, or would you envy the dead who will not have to deal with the harsh new world.

If you hope to survive, what are you doing to increase your odds of survival and to deal with the aftermath?

  1. What? The world is going to end again?  I thought it finished 2 years ago, according to prophesy.

  2. The 2012 is not real. It is a lie (just like 2001/Y2K) It will be like any other year. It is made up by history channel to sell books and magazines. Don't worry about it, the world won't end for a few billion years anyway.

  3. 2112?  I'm not likely to make it that long.  But maybe.

But 2012? Oh yes. Survival will be easy. My plan, and you can use it, because it will really work, and won't affect my plans in the least, is to go about your regular business in the regular way.

None of the astronomical based 2012 predictions make any sense at all. Nibiru would have been noticed by now. It's supposed to be big, and it only has 4 years to get here. We can see Comet Halley, even though it's tiny and out by Neptune. Geez. I'd be able to see Nibiru in my telescope. I've seen Pluto.

In 2013, 2012 will be known as the year that the world didn't end. It will join a long line of years and dates where the end of the world was predicted, but didn't happen. Here's when the world will end: eventually. That's the kind of Universe we live in. Now some say it will be in 4 to 6 billion years when the Sun swells up to the size of the Earth's orbit. But if we're smart, we'll save the Earth. It can be done with normal physics, and with technology that is already more or less in our grasp. And calculations show that we have plenty of time. So the end of the world may take trillions of years.

  4. There will be no special astronomical events to alter human behaviour, either in 2112 or in 2012.

The Big 2012 Hoax Off is a totally fictional event (or list of events), that is just another one in a never ending series of "end-of-the-world" predictions.

There will, of course, be some idiots who, believing this nonsense, may go berserk around the "magical" date.  There will be others (terrorists) who will seize this occasion to create willful damage (just as was the case in 1999-2000).

  5. Undoubtedly?

Zimma, do you get some kind of rush going around scaring kids?  Are you the center of attention around the water cooler?  I think maybe that third Top Contributor forum of yours is the reason for this.  All this apocalypse garbage is the result of a stupid documentary on the History Channel.  All the other doom woo-woos have piggybacked their pet apocalypses onto it.  There is no factual basis for ANY of these claims, just like the hundreds of previous times they incorrectly and ignorantly predicted the end of the world.

And since you're a top contributor in Psychology, too, do you intend to mentally abuse people with this kind of c**p -- people who might be coming there seeking help with personal problems?  Unless you take pride in being a bully, (an anonymous one, at that), why don't you just drop this nonsense?

Edit:  Never mind.  I see how you are a Top Contributor in Psychology.  You go back and give one-liner answers to all the questions which have no answers and then vote for your answer.

  6. What carnage.  The usual US presidential election?  I'll admit that is kind of bad but I don't think it merits the word "carnage".  Perhaps you meant the 2012 television shows.  Here the word carnage is fairly accurate since most new shows do not survive.  So the answer is that I will watch cable or perhaps I'll be working my way thru Buffy again.  But wait, TV isn't effected much by astronomical events.  OK solar storms can mess up TV reception but again the word carnage doesn't apply.  I'm sorry, I just don't understand what you mean.  Personally I suggest buying a complete set of Buffy.  Then nothing can bother you again.

  7. When the day comes I'll wish the world a fond goodbye with a pint of London Pride in my hand.

Come to think of I'll start now just in case I miss it when it happens *slurp*.

  8. Hah-hah-hah-hah!  LOL!!  ROFL.  ROFLMAO!

That's what I'm going to be doing on the day after your prediction is revealed as the utter tripe it is.  You and all the other nitwits that have bought into the garbage.

  9. In 2112 I'll be 147 years old.  I'll probably be dead by then.  If not, I don't think I'll be in any shape to survive the carnage.

  10. If the world ends....then how would there be survivors???

That's the question of the day for you.

  11. I don't believe there will be any carnage to survive.  There is no actual scientific theory or evidence that anything unusual is going to happen in 2012. It is a collection of myths and disproven theories being promulgated by doomsday predictors, who predict a new one every few years. The longer explanation is below:

It is based on the end the current cycle of the Mayan long count calendar. No doomsday was predicted and the Mayan civilization died out, so a new cycle wasn’t written.

Niburu (Planet X) doesn't exist. Zecharia Sitchin is an author of books promoting the ancient astronaut theory for human origins. He attributes the creation of the ancient Sumerian culture to the Annunaki (or Nephilim) from a hypothetical planet named Nibiru in the solar system. The Doomsayers predicted that it was to hit Earth in 2003. Undaunted when it didn't show up, they just moved it out to 2012 to coincide with the end of the Mayan calendar.

Galactic Alignment - takes 36 years to precess through galactic equator, we will be 6 degrees off in 2012.

Asteroid Apophis - the 2001 alert was for 2029, and was canceled after additional observations showed it would not hit us.

Polar Shift - the magnetic poles are moving all the time. Polar reversal happens over thousands of years.

Passage through a "photon belt" has been added. This is also untrue and wouldn't hurt us if it were. Photons are merely units of light.

Solar flares happen all the time and we have more of them at some times than others. They haven't caused any serious problems in the past. The direct effects of solar flares are mainly related to communications and radio transmissions. We had a major series of solar flares in 2005. Did you notice anything? I didn't.
