Would people please stop saying if you make less than 250k a year you will do better with Obama's plan.

It is patently untrue. If you make less than 75k you will do better with Obama's plan if you don't own any stock. Note that he is increasing capital gains for everyone.

If you make between 75 k and 250k he is doing away with Bush's tax cuts. AND raising capital gains for EVERYONE!

If you make greater than 250k he is going to raise your taxes. Plus raise capital gains.

  1. If he is elected then my family's middle class budget will tighten even more than it already is. We invest in the form of my husbands's 401k, that's it. So, not only will he be raising our taxes to a painful level, he will also be taxing and penalizing us for planning for a modest retirement. Nice, thanks Obama.

How does that help me to relate to him? How is that "helping the middle class"?

  2. I invest, but not in America.

Investing in America is stupid, because American companies can not make any profits, due to hostile anti-business laws passed by the liberals. And if by some incredible luck they manage to make some money, the government calls it "windfall profits" and confiscates 90% of the money.

  3. OMG i didnt think about this!!!!!

Obama should have to change his economy plan about this then otherwise there would be disaster!

  4. lol....Like we have money to invest in stocks. We had to stop contributing to our 401K 2 years ago. We simply couldn't pay for that AND the bills. And NO, I don't own any credit cards and my cars are fully paid for and second hand.

  5. The Mullah speaks the truth.  Most of my 401K investments are in foreign stock.

  6. You are exactly right.

    INCOME TAX

    MCCAIN

    (no changes)

    Single making 30K - tax $4,500

    Single making 50K - tax $12,500

    Single making 75K - tax $18,750

    Married making 60K- tax $9,000

    Married making 75K - tax $18,750

    Married making 125K - tax $31,250

OBAMA (reversion to pre-Bush tax cuts)

    Single making 30K - tax $8,400

    Single making 50K - tax $14,000

    Single making 75K - tax $23,250

    Married making 60K - tax $16,800

    Married making 75K - tax $21,000

    Married making 125K - tax $38,750

Under Obama, your taxes could almost double!

    MCCAIN

0% on home sales up to $500,000 per home (couples). McCain does not propose any change in existing home sales income tax.

    OBAMA

28% on profit from ALL home sales. (How does this affect you? If you sell your home and make a profit, you will pay 28% of your gain on taxes. If you are heading toward retirement and would like to down-size your home or move into a retirement community, 28% of the money you make from your home will go to taxes. This proposal will adversely affect the elderly who are counting on the income from their homes as part of their retirement income.)

    D IVIDEND TAX

    MCCAIN

    15% (no change)

    OBAMA

39.6% - (How will this affect you? If you have any money invested in stock market, IRA, mutual funds, college funds, life insurance, retirement accounts, or anything that pays or reinvests dividends, you will now be paying nearly 40% of the money earned on taxes if Obama becomes president. The experts predict that 'Higher tax rates on dividends and capital gains would crash the stock market, yet do absolutely nothing to cut the deficit.')

  7. any body who has a IRA or a 401k dabbles in the market

  8. EVERYONE LOSES WITH OBAMA. His tax and spend policies will throw us back into the 70's, i remeber Carter, it was a disaster, we still have problems in the middle east today due to his stupidity. You are right about the tax cuts. one thing to remember is that if you make over $21,000 a yr the democrats consider you one of the rich.

Right now the unemployment rate is rising a bit due to the min. wage increase that gives only the worst employees a raise for doing nothing. If you still work for minimum wage after a yr. then there is a bigger problem. You have the right to succeed AND FAIL.

Obama will lose in Nov. Remember you saw it here first.

  9. yes i do and i am voting mccain.

  10. I use asset allocation:

    40% bonds

    30 % large cap stocks

    15% small cap stocks

    15% foreign stocks

However, with the current bear market I have more in cash and CDs than in stocks.

I use ETFs for low cost diversification.

  11. Yes, I do, and I too am voting for McCain.
