  1. I think you take it off because the wedding ring goes on the bottom with the engagement ring on top.

  2. Yes, I wore mine on my right hand throughout the ceremony.

  3. At a freinds wedding a few years back, she wore her engagement ring to the alter, then removed it to receive the wedding ring.

    A nice touch, I thought.

  4. You take it off for the ceremony certainly.  If you want to wear it later you give it to the Maid of Honor before the ceremony.  If it is to be a double ring ceremony the MoH also holds the groom's ring until time to give it to the bride in the ceremony.  Later you can put your engagement ring back on but on top of the wedding ring so that the wedding ring is closest to your heart.

  5. It's upto you. I normally wear it during the day and remove it in the nite as it will hurt while am asleep. For us no rings its something on the chain on the wedding which I dont remove forever.

So you can choose to wear it forever as people will know, may be u r engaged!!

    Cheers and happy married life!

  6. I put mine on my right hand and switched it after the ceremony

  7. depends.  in Jewish ceremony, you can't have diamonds on your hands, so my ring was in my hubby's pocket and I put it on afterwords.  you can put it on your right hand and back on left after the ceremony, together with the wedding band...  :)  best of luck!

  8. it's your choice,  but I can only copy what everyone else said, wear it on your right hand, and transfer it after the wedding, and mainly I answered your question, to wish you both good luck!!! & every happiness x*x

  9. It's up to you, there's no right way to do it. You can either -

    * Leave it on your finger, and have the wedding ring put over the top (not favoured by many, as brides prefer to have the look of a ring-free ring finger when they're getting married)

    * Put the engagement ring on your right hand during the ceremony, and move it to the left afterwards (whether you move it back straight after the ceremony or the next day is up to you) - this seems to be favoured by the majority!

    * Take the engagement ring off completely until after the ceremony, putting it back next to your wedding ring (what I am doing).

Do what you want to do. People are also saying it's tradition to wear the engagement ring after the wedding ring, but it's not a law, you can do it however you like. Some brides don't wear their engagement rings at all after the wedding.

I'm wearing my rings the other way around. I see the wedding ring as a "cap" to the engagement. I got the engagement ring first, and the wedding ring second, so that's how I will wear them.

  10. I did the same. During my wedding, I had my engagement ring on my right hand and then after the wedding was done, I moved it over on top of my wedding band.

  11. you have to take the ring off as the wedding ring gos on the same finger you can put it back on after the wedding but if your wanting to wear it put it on a different finger on your wedding day.

  12. i wear it all the time

  13. Tradition is that  you wear your engagment ring on your right hand and than after your put it on your left hand, so that way your wedding rind is closer to your heart.

    Good luck!

  14. i put mine on my right hand and changed it back whilst we were signing the register.

  15. Many people do different things.  Some women take it of, others wear it on the ring finer or on the right hand ring finger.

The wedding band is placed on first and then the engagement ring.

What I plan on doing for myself, wearing the engagement ring (its what started us on our way to this day) and then add my wedding band.  After the ceremony I"ll swap the order on my finger.

  16. you wear it on your right hand during the ceremony... then afterwards you can put it back onto your left hand.

  17. I plan on wearing mine on my right hand and after switching it.
