  1. Russia is really good!

  2. Hello, well

Russia, China, USA, Japan and Canada are the bests.

Also some European and Asian countries can get really good.

BUT, that this countries are good doesnt mean other countries cant win some competitions, it depends on the skater, and his/her coach.

You can see here which countries did best in each cattegory in ISU World Figure Skating Championship Gotenborg 2008:

  3. usa

    russia

    china

those are the average countries on top of the podium for figure skating.

  4. USA, Russia, Japan, Canada.. just google for past Olympic and World results and you'll see that these are the top nations.

  5. Canada

    Russia

    Usa

  6. Japan is definitely a force to reckon with. USA is setting high standards as well. And though Russia has been a dominating force, as of now it hasn't been on top. Not in ladies anyway. Irina is gone. Canada also sets the standards very high and I see them continuing to improve.

I would also mention other countries who have a few skaters making their country big, though they in the long run aren't dominating. Korea, their interest is obviously growing thanks to the popular Yuna Kim. Italy has Carolina, and even more countries seem to have their star skater even though they haven't won major gold.

I think the absolute top players are USA and Japan. Watch out for them. (Or call them, the triple axel nations. Ladies have had 5 coming from these two places, out of a total of 6 in major competition.)
