Do you know a Granny like this?

My Granny

She likes to pick at nits,

but does it with such wit,

we never feel offended,

for such is not intended.

She cares for young and old,

writes poems clean and bold,

of poetry distended

she know how to amend it.

There's much more I can say,

but now, I'm off to play,

I'm feeling quite contented

that she will never end it.

Sounds suspiciously like me!  And, I was just about to pounce on the 'know' 'knows' discrepancy when you pulled the rug out from under my feet.....I sit here on my bruised backside feeling very deprived!

Just as long as you folk provide me with a never-ending series of super poems, and treat me kindly when I post my own, I shall be around for a very long time.

(I bet you're not off to play...I bet you're off to spend more time with your nose to the grindstone)

I love grandmothers, loved having one, love being one.  And I keep on adopting them.  One can never have too many!

If I know the Granny that you mention

she does her work with no pretention,

freeing with words, she does not fetter,

she helps to make our poems better.

This is a very fitting tribute to an extremely deserving and lovable person. Thank you.
