  1. I do know Ventuno.  I travel to Sydney usually once a year.  I've been there twice.  Ventuno is in an area near Darling Harbor in a place called the "Rocks" on Miller Point. These are trendy places with lots of shopping and other restaurants that are good and near the Theatre District.

Ventuno is a good Italian restaurant, not great, but the food is very good overall.  The service is "ok" but I find it getting better.  The price feels reasonable to me.

Overall, I'd give it about a 7.  Try to go on a night that isn't so crowded and you'll have a great time.

The Italian Restaurant I prefer doesn't have as great views, but I find the service impeccible and the food is amazing.  I'm sorry, I can't remember the name, but it's an old "mom and pop" place, that is in the alley to the left of the Sydney Marriott (as you are facing the front).  It's in a "brown stone" like place.  I like it a lot and its worth a try.

    Cheers!

  2. Forget going to any restaurant near the city tourist spots - they are overpriced. If you want excellent Italian with a view, go to Otto at Woolloomooloo, Area 8, Cowper Wharf Rd.
