Do you know about Bosnia. If so, what do you think of it?

I'm sure they've had war there before involving some military within Europe... but aren't as economicly stable as other countries in Europe I believe.

I do love Bosnia from what I know, but don't know the whole country and am not an expert.

I know parts of it fairly well.  Hubby is Bosnian and his family live in Zenica and Sarajevo so we visit 1/2 times a year normally.  We also have a house we built from scratch on the Vlasic mountains and it really is a retreat - great air, peace & quiet, cool in the summer with a breeze and scenery to rival anywhere in Europe.

Unfortunately there is a lot of ignorance about it.  You only have to look at some of the other questions in this section in the last few days to see what I mean.  The Bosnia I know is safe, beautiful, with great food, sceneary and very hospitable & kind people.

I hope that there will be a lot more foreign investment in the following years to help support the country and also to attract investment flows such as tourism.  Already every year we see how fast the country is growing and re-developing e.g. in Sarajevo alone.  

So what do I think of it?  Great country, great people, and an hidden little gem!

Bla Bla has got it exactly right! Really great people. Corruption is a problem and is retarding the regeneration of Bosnia to some degree, but it has improved tremendously in the last 3 years. People r either very poor or very rich, legacy of the war. Very few middle class, I guess a lot of them migrated during the war. Never met a Bosnian who was rude or didn't make u feel welcome. Wonderful people!
