Passenger (or Personal) Name Record (PNR)...

This is used in computer reservations systems. A PNR contains all of the passenger's information contained in a specific booking like flights, phone numbers, etc - these details are not always same and can be changed by the system developer.

it is your special number on which your railway ticket is booked you can check your status of your ticket online wether it is conformed or nor to check your status login to follwing website

www.indianrail.gov.in

then select the option Passenger/PNR Status on top left corner.

enter your PNR No. as mentioned on the ticket and get your status
