  1. A charcoal will do.. Try to burn wood until it turns black.. Then that's it. It a good source of black color.. But if you're thinking something that needs not to be altered then squid ink will do.. They're black and natural..

  2. Charcoal?

That you crush to powder and mix with some liquid might make a dye.

  3. Indigo = blue (from India); Cochineal = red (from Mexico); burnt Sienna = brown (from Italy), etc. Also, do a Google search for "natural dyes."

  4. coal, oil,

Shoe polish used to be made from lamp black which is the soot that forms in an oil lamp and is pure carbon. It was mixed with animal fat to polish boots.

India ink has pure carbon in it,

    Coal is almost pure carbon

used diesel oil has carbon in it and the stains do not come out of cloth

There are many plants that are used for dying cloth.

  5. Use lamp black. That is what they used to make black paint for years. If you light a gas lamp with a glass globe on it, the black charcoal buildup on the globe is "lamp black". It is a super fine powder and easy to mix with solvents or oils for a pigment.

Good luck, you mad professor!! : P
