Do you know any good father daughter songs?

Question

I'm getting married in Oct (yay) and I'm going to be dancing with my father & my stepfather.

I've looked and looked, & i'm tired of finding 'Butterfly Kisses' or 'In my daughters eyes'.

This isn't a country wedding, and I'm not a big fan of country.

Any idea?

Well, I was going to recommend "Stealing Cinderella" by Chuck Wicks, but you don't like country.  FYI  "Stealing Cinderella" is a ballad which, through allusions to the fairy tale of Cinderella, the narrator tells of a conversation with his girlfriend's father, asking for the father's permission to marry his daughter.[1][3] Throughout the conversation, the young man realizes that, although she is an adult, the father will always think of his daughter as a young girl -- one who is "playing Cinderella, riding her first bike / Bouncing on the bed and looking for a pillow fight". Ok this is a country song but I think it is a really good father/daughter dance.  The name of the song is "I Loved Her First".  I can't remember who sings it but it really is a good song if you honestly listen to it.  Try and think outside the box and go for songs that fit you and your father and you and your stepfather.  Is there a song that maybe you and your father used to listen to a lot when you were a child?  How about that same question for you and your stepfather?  Is there any specific song that you and your father and stepfather both like?  who says it really has to be a "slow" song.  It seems like anything goes with weddings these days.

Congrats, I'm getting Married in December...

Butterfly kisses is a great song I think, especially when the girl sings in it.

I also love I loved her first.. but that's a country song.

I love dance with cinderella that's a great one and it's not overplayed...  Pleas do not use dance with my father, the song is about how much this person misses their father because he died (or possibly walked out, but I'm pretty sure it's that he passed away).  look at the lyrics

i am a huge fan of "cinderella" by steven curtis chapman.  the firt time i heard the song i got mad that i was already married because i would love to dance with my dad to that!  my dad is also a wedding dj and i told him he had to get that song!  check it out!  this video doesn't include the lyrics like it says it does, but you'll get the idea.  BTW...congrats on shooting down butterfly kisses.  it's overdone and so d**n long!

sorry, i was gonna suggest butterfly kisses, even though i hate that song too. here's a suggestion, maybe the song doesnt have to be about a father and a daughter, just sit down with you dad and tal about all the songs that you both like and pick one of them to dance to at your reception, it will be more special that way because it'll be you and your dad's song.
