  1. Robots In Disguise are aaaamazing! Erm, they're not very relaxing buuut they are weird and interesting - they're sort of electro/indie/rock/punk sort of thing, which i realise isn't exactly what you were looking for but they are definitely worth checking out!!

  2. you said weird/interesting and relaxing.

well you pretty much just named Pink Floyd (it was a popular rock band in the 70's still is, the music is wicked.)

  3. they're not new but the red hot chili peppers are like funk rock i think. hope i helped.

  8. Haha, i know what you mean! Its so hard these days to find really really good music that suits a specific genre.. especially funk/rock - i think music at the minute is just so broad now that there's so much 'genres' around now its hard to get specific :)

anyway, rock funk bands ayeee, the red hot chillis rock! Here are a few that arnt all rock/funk, and not exactly new - but definitely got that 'umphh' factor!

    1. Digitalism - more electronic based band, but they are really uplifting and kind of 'suck' you into there mad beats and woahh they are preettaii good :DD probably not exactly what you're looking for though, but definitely check them out, they can be quite chilled as well.

    2. Cage The Elephant - rather new in england - they played at reading and were surprisingly good! these are interesting because they have a really unusual take on todays 'funk rock' they balance it perfect, there songs are SO catchy with great riffs and lyrics!

    3. Lenny Kravitz! Not exactly new, but definitely funky! Just great overall to get up to and dance! Okay, im quite young so i was taken by surprise when i realised this stuff was well cool!

    4. Jamiroquai - want groovy funk? You got it! Woahhh i recently listened to Emergency On Planet Earth and i can honestly say i was dancing round the front room with my cat. Lol im not joking either :) its just so chilled, relaxed, up beat all at once, really really recommend it!

    5. Booka Shade - okay, these arnt so funk, more again electro rock, but they have that brilliant beat and feeling to it! Atmospheric and chilled, i definitely recommend the album The Sun And The Neon Light - great stuff!!

Okay, that it really, cant think of anything else ive recently heard but id defo check some of the suggestions :)

  9. i really loooove the band quietdrive. they have a new album coming out october 14th and their new music is way different than the old stuff. its more... i dont know how to describe it. more upbeat and youd probly like it. so check it out october 14th!

  13. two tribes, look on youtube there is an old video put in 11 tribes back to love

  14. i dont really no any funk rock bands but nickelback is good

  15. Well the Red Hot Chili Peppers always had a kind of ska-sound to me, and my favorite ska band is Sublime.

As for funk, the band Bloc Party is pretty funkayyy. :]

ohhhh and maybe you'd like the Violent Femmes. They did that "Blister In the Sun" song, but they had a lot of other brilliant stuff. I'd suggest 'Add It Up' or 'Gone Daddy Gone.'

And also, Beck is very creative with his music. He was really famous during the time of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, so maybe you'd like him too.

  16. Try some Dan Reed Network, old but brilliant
