Many Kendo Sensei know where the Sword schools are as many also practice Iaido (drawing the sword) or what is called Kenjutsu. So you know it is a very generic term and Japanese will many times consider Kendo the same thing. Many schools of Iaido are jutsu schools, though some are more focused on art and meditation of practice.

Japanese Kendo Sensei can many times be gaurding of these schools as I found out while living in Saitama. If you have any friends in Japan have them look online. Yahoo Japan often has more information that non-kanji readers can't find
