  1. You can buy a fancy piece of paper that says a star was named after you but that is all you get---a fancy piece of paper.  It is a scam to cheat you out of your money.  It isnt real.

  2. To buy a star, it cost your hands, legs, ur body as they will be burn and you could give the money to me.

  3. I know someone who was given one as a gift, but I have no idea how much it cost, nor where it was purchased.

  4. You can buy one from this site

    http://www.starregistry.co.uk/

I think they cost about £49.00

  5. Star????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  6. You can't.

It's like the companies that sold land on the Moon and on Mars.

It isn't legallay theirs to sell!

  7. stars? if you mean about stars glowing in space, then it wouldn't be possible for someone to buy it. you can't until the end of time,

  8. you can't buy any celestial objects as they are protected by the outer space treaty of the UN. This treaty does not allow any of the signing countries (which are all countries which operate their own satellites), to claim ownership of celestial objects.

There are companies who offer you to name a star, but these names are not accepted internationally, they are only registered as such in the catalog of the company.

The official names are assigned by the international astronomical union (IAU). Stars don't get named other than the numerical codes now, so most stars named after humans are historic names, like Barnard's star. One of the younger stars named officially by a person is Teegarden's star, who got named after the scientists leading the program which discovered it, because it is a very special star, as it moves fast over the sky.
