  1. Manny Pacquiao of the Philippines. I can't believe that this first Asian boxer (who won 3 titles) is also a singer, tv host, movie actor, and a commercial model.

He really is a big name in boxing that he even got his own ringtone! Check this out (unbelievable! lol!) It's sounds hip-hoppish too.

He is scheduled to fight Diaz this weekend.

  2. Nicolai Valuev

  3. Aside from those already mentioned I'd add Sonny Liston who appeared in the Monkees movie Head, Steve Collins who appeared in Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels, and Gary Stretch who has appeared in numerous movies. I'm unsure of their singing talents!

  4. barry mc guigan once released a pop single....the less said about that, the better.

ray mancini acted in a few films, including one of the dirty dozen sequels

joe frazier was a singer in las vegas ( i dont know if the still does it)

didn't ken norton play jim the runaway slave in a version of huckleberry finn?

he also appeared in the a team and knight rider.

ali acted in his first bio pic, as well as his own cartoon

marvin hagler acted after retiring from the sport.

    frank bruno does pantomime!

mark breland acted in the lords of discipline

tommy morrison and antonio tarver attempted to break into acting in the rocky series.

  5. Mickey Rourke was a professional boxer and I always like him in movies.  If you don't know who he is, he was the big guy in Sin City Marv, he also starred in Once upon a time in Mexico and Man on Fire. He also has a shitload of other movies.

Roy Jones Jr released a rap CD and acted in the Matrix, the last Matrix movie. He has been in a few tv shows and tv movies. He also had an uncredited part in the Devils Advocate.

  6. Oscar de la hoya

  7. Manny Pacquiao!!!

  8. Shannon Briggs was in Transporter 2....he got killed tho'.  He was the big black thug with dredlocks who was crushed by the boat.   And Sugar Ray Robinson sung and tap danced....he was terrible.

  9. There's a few who've come close in modern times (listed below), but I'd say the closest answer is Muhammad Ali.

He was in a few movies, and was the subject of the song "Black Superman".

In modern days, Oscar De La Hoya's done an album and has been on some tv shows (Arliss and George Lopez).

Back in the 60's a former boxer named Cecil Bustamente became a singer.  He changed his name to Prince Buster, and as Prince Buster cameo'd in a few movies.

Evander Hollyfield was in a bunch of B movies, and also in Dancing with the Stars (no songs that I know of though).

Mike Tyson's been in two movies.  One of them's a documentary.  But I doubt he can sing (with that voice of his, I certainly hope not).

Antonio Tarver and Tommy Morrison were in  movies, as was Jake LaMotta, but I don't think any of them made records.

Winky wright was in a movie called "State Property 2", has a show called "winky's spot"  and has been in tons of rap videos.  He owns a record label and is producing music on the side.  I've no idea if he's actually sung though...

  10. He wasn't a singer but Tex Cobb was an actor in several movies, most notably "Raising Arizona" as the biker that Nicholas Cage blows up.  Tex was a former heavyweight boxer who got a shot at the title, losing over 15 one-sided rounds to Larry Holmes.  It was the fight that forced Howard Cossell to walk away from boxing.

Tex resides in the Philadelphia area now and is a fixture at all of the fight cards at the Blue Horizon in North Philly.  He greets many of the spectators, signs autographs, and is just a truly nice guy!!!
