A mother’s poem
by C. S. Scotkin
Little boy red
Little boy blue
I wonder how
nature knew
you were destined to be one.
Nature divides
cleaves, surprises.
from one, now two
love divided
multiplies, and there you were.
Alike as two
ever can be
you were yourselves
yes, completely
right from the beginning.
Not even a mom
can understand
this bond, entire.
Unseen, real band
holding you together.
You are alike,
so different,
you always have been
you always will be
my two only children.
